Rangers get Late Equalizer, but Fall to Dutch Lions
May 28, 2016

After trailing for most of the match, second half substitute Alejandro Moquete gave the Little Rock Rangers the equalizer in the 75th minute on an amazing goal from the left side on a ball from Ferdinand Matebu, but it wasn't enough as the Dutch Lions had a late game outburst scoring 3 goals in a matter of 7 minutes to down the Rangers 4-1.

The conference leading Dutch Lions scored an early 10th minute goal when Anuar Kanan scored off of an assist from Henrique Lucena Pires. After the early goal, the Rangers and Dutch Lions battled for the rest of the first half, both getting attacking opportunities, but unable to capitalize. At halftime, both teams had 6 shots to their credit.

The start of the second half saw both sides getting chances once again, but no team scoring until the Rangers knotted it up in the 75th minute. After the equalizer, the Dutch Lions scored in the 83rd minute on a goal by Jose Pablo Covarrubias, the 86th minute on a goal from Aitor Iniguez de Heredia, and in the 89th minute on a goal from Lars Willemse.

Overall, the Dutch Lions had 13 total shots, including 7 on goal, compared to the Rangers who had 12 shots with 6 on goal. Dutch Lions' keeper Matthew Gutierrez had 4 saves to his credit and Rangers' goalie Bryce Deaton had 3. The win kept the Dutch Lions on top of the table for the South Central conference.

The Rangers will continue their home stretch on Saturday, June 3rd when the Joplin Demize come to Little Rock. Tickets for that game can purchased at LittleRockRangers.com.
