The Rangers knew that playing the defending conference champions would be a tough task going into Friday night. In front of 3295 fans, FC Wichita got the scoring started early when Corey Cantor put one in the net in the 21st minute assisted by Jeff Kyei. The Rangers were unable to mount much of an attack against FC Wichita's backline in the first half and went into halftime trailing 1-0. In the second half, Luis Pinto stole one from the Ranger's backline and capitalized to put FC Wichita up 2-0. The Rangers began to establish some offense late, but was unable to put one in the net. Overall, the Rangers had 6 shots compared to Wichita's 13. Logan Miller had 6 saves for the Rangers filling in for Bryce Deaton who had to come off in the 24th minute with an injury.
