On a rainy night at War Memorial Stadium, the Little Rock Rangers earned their first victory over the Joplin Demize when Gabriel Viola put the Rangers on top with a goal in the 65th minute.
The Rangers and the Demize battled hard in the first half with each team earning opportunities. Great goalie play from Carlos Herrera kept the Demize off of the board for the first half. In the second half, the Little Rock Rangers capitalized on a free kick in the 65th minute as Ferdinand Matebu passed the ball to Viola who put it past the Demize goalie and into the net. The Demize pushed for a late equalizer, but in the 88th minute, Rangers goalie, Carlos Herrera, made a match saving stop to keep the Demize from getting the equalizer.
Overall, the Rangers shot 9 times with 3 on goal compared to the Demize who shot 11 times with 5 on goal. The man of the match was the Ranger's goalie Carlos Herrera who notched 5 important saves for the Rangers in only his second start in goal.
